Written to be genuinely readable: what this site collects, what it doesn’t, and when you can ask us to delete it.

Last updated 17 Aug 2026 · By the MjourneyGo team

The short version: we don’t sell your data and don’t make you sign up to use the tools. Most of what the tools use (your trip plan, the figures you type into the budget calculator) is processed in your own browser and never sent to us.

1. What we collect

a. Site usage data (automatic)

  • Pages opened, time of visit, time on page, links clicked
  • Device type, browser, operating system, screen resolution
  • Traffic source (from Google, YouTube, social, or a typed URL)
  • Approximate location at province/country level, estimated from your IP — we don’t keep full IP addresses ourselves

Collected via Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are useful and what needs improving This data is statistical and is not used to identify individuals.

b. What you enter yourself

  • Trip budget calculator · sakura forecast · JR Pass comparison — everything you enter is calculated in your browser nothing is sent to a server; close the page and it’s gone
  • Trip planner — if you save a plan, we store its contents so you can reopen it via the link you get with no name or email attached
  • Email — kept only if you enter it to get our newsletter or to contact us

c. What we don’t collect

  • Card numbers or payment details — this site takes no payments; all bookings happen on partner sites
  • ID numbers, passport numbers or other sensitive data
  • Precise GPS location (unless you allow it for the nearby-search feature, where it’s used and discarded at once)

2. Cookies

TypePurposeCan you turn it off?

You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site’s main tools will still work.

3. Third-party services we call

Some pages pull live data from third parties, who will see the request sent from your browser (your IP and device type, for example) under their own policies.

  • Google Analytics · Google Fonts (font display)
  • YouTube (embed clips) and Google Maps (show some map pages)
  • Travel data providers such as the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap and our hotel/ticket booking partners.

4. Affiliate links and ads

This site earns from ads and affiliate links. If you book a hotel, ticket or activity through a link here, we may earn a commission from the provider at no extra cost to you We don’t take money for positive reviews, and our rankings are not based on commission.

5. How long we keep data

  • Statistical data in Google Analytics — by Google default (up to 14 months)
  • Saved trip plans — kept until you ask us to delete them
  • Emails you send us — kept only as long as needed to reply and for later reference

Under the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562, you have the right to access, get a copy, correct, delete, restrict use, object to processing and withdraw consent at any time Send requests to contact@mjourneygo.com and we’ll act within 30 days

7. Children and young people

This is general travel content and is not aimed at collecting data from anyone under 13. If we’re told such data has been submitted, we’ll delete it.

8. Security

The whole site is served over HTTPS, and access to config files and back-end data is limited to administrators. Even so, no system is 100% secure, so please don’t email sensitive data unnecessarily.

9. Changes to this policy

If we revise it, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced on the home page.
